Information about Jack
I am a full-time student studying for a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at BPP University in London, having secured a training contract with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom (UK) LLP. I graduated from Durham University with a First Class Honours Degree in History, ranked third in my entire year. My strong academic record is reflected at A Level where I achieved A* (History) A* (Economics) A (Maths) with 100 UMS marks in my History and an additional A in my Extended Project Qualification. In my last two years, I was also shortlisted for two Oxbridge essay prizes. Having enjoyed tutoring over the last four years, helping students into St Andrews University and Brighton College, I want to use my experience and tutor students in London with TutorHunt.
Availability: Although I am a full-time student, I shall only have two days of lectures and seminars every week. All of this is online. This means I will be free most weekdays, weekends and evenings. I am looking for up to 20 hours of tutoring work per week.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring for four years now and have enjoyed it greatly. For two years, I helped a Durham student achieve A*AA in History, Politics and Philosophy and gain a place at St Andrew`s University in International Relations. We met every week at his convenience and worked together towards improving his analytical structure and planning. Moreover, I have worked with students closer in my home area of West Sussex with Common Entrance and 11+ Entrance Exams. One of my students successfully earned a place at Brighton College, whilst the other is yet to take their exams.
I have also taught sports at a prep school to large classes and observed A Level lessons at a secondary school. I would like to use this experience to help students in London. Whilst my main strength is certainly in History, I have had success with my tutees at A Level Maths and Economics and also at GCSE level and in lower years in Science. It is not long since I took these exams and I believe this helps me empathise with students and understand their work.
