I am an enthusiastic Geographer having studied Geographical Sciences at degree level at Bristol University. I have a passion for education and have worked as a teacher for over 10 years completing my PGCE from Cambridge University. I studied for my Masters in Geographical Education from University College London to further enhance my understanding of teaching pedagogy.

I am an approachable, friendly and organised individual. I am also patient and understanding and I enjoy finding different ways to make learning accessible to the students that I teach.

Experience: I have worked as a teacher for over 10 years teaching a range of syllabuses including OCR, AQA, Edexcel and the IB to GCSE and A level students. I have worked in schools in the UK and abroad and have taught many pupils with English as their second language.

I have worked as an examiner for various exam boards since 2011 including OCR, AQA, Edexcel and the IB. I also work as a team leader for the IB where I supervise other examiners in their marking role. This has given me a great insight into the requirements of formal assessment and an ability to help students understand mark schemes.

I also work as a content writer for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders writing the educational content for their website. Additionally I work as content writer for Kognity which is creating an online textbook for IGCSE Geography. These roles require a good understanding of exam specifications and knowledge of how to make geographical content approachable and easy to understand.

I have worked as a tutor alongside my teaching positions whilst living abroad. I enjoy working with pupils one on one, working out their learning needs and findings ways to help them reach their full potential.
