I studied English at Manchester University, and did an MA in English and American Literature at Purdue University, Indiana, USA. I worked as a teaching assistant at an American University, teaching writing skills to classes of up to 30 students. On my return to the UK, I started a family, but continued teaching adult literacy. I did a training in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and then trained to teach pupils with dyslexia. I worked as a teaching assistant in both primary and secondary schools before training as a Primary school teacher at Homerton College, Cambridge.

Experience: I have taught adult literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I did a specialist RSA training in teaching pupils with dyslexia and taught several pupils at home, working with some to help them with GCSE`s. I trained to become a primary school teacher in 1997 and taught in various primary schools in and around Cambridge. Most recently, I taught for several years at a Cambridge city primary school. I taught in almost all age groups, from Reception to Year 6. I have taught across the curriculum, but specialised in my last few years in teaching French at KS2 level.
