Information about Eileen
I am highly experienced and very enthusiastic as I get great personal satisfaction from enabling students to gain confidence and reach their full potential. Lessons are positive and offer strategies to ensure tutees develop a `can do` approach to the subject. I tailor the work to suit each individual student`s needs.
I am friendly and approachable.
I have a basic DBS certificate, providing vital reassurance to parents.
Availability: I usually teach during the day and early evening from Monday to Thursday.
I prefer to teach in my own home where I have all my resources and a large, well equipped study.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I taught for 39 years in secondary school and was rated `outstanding` by Ofsted.

I have tutored a wide range of ages and abilities with excellent success, whether it be gifted students or those who have specific difficulties with English. I am also experienced in preparing students for the English components of 11+ and entrance exams.

We were so pleased to have found Eileen to help with our 9 year old who was struggling a bit with spellings. Over a few sessions Eileen gave our daughter some new ways to think about hearing the sounds of the words and also gave support with writing, encouraging our daughter so much. Our daughter loved her lessons! Eileen is such a kind and experienced tutor, and I would very much recommend her.

She is approachable,friendly and my daughter finds her so easy to work with..Her wealth of experience is not only demonstrated in her extensive knowledge of texts, but also in her ability to bring the subject alive.Eileen is a great communicator and I feel my daughter leaves her lessons with a fuller understanding of where she’s heading in her work; she had always had a hit and miss approach in her essay writing but now her work bears more clarity which in turn leaves her greatly encouraged, more confident in class and able to contribute more in her lessons.Eileen is a great teacher I would highly recommended her
