Tutored for over four years with considerable success - this year 96% at level 8 and above at GCSE and 100% grade A or above at A level (cohort of 12 students in total).
Experienced secondary school teacher of English. Specialist in examination preparation: GCSE; A level and entrance examinations. I have taught for over twenty years at an `outstanding` state school and consistently perform above the national average. Last minute GCSE/A level preparation. Now is the time to book for tuition regarding entrance examinations for Secondary schools. I specialise in identifying areas in which the student can benefit from strategic approaches to improve exam performance. I have over 80% success rate in students achieving level 7 or above.
I am also a highly experienced teacher of drama and able to help with audition speeches as well as any other public speaking engagement.
I am trained to help with IGCSE and ELLIS.
Availability: Available on-line throughout September and then both face to face and on-line from October. Busy most early evening slots but available from 7pm and at weekends.

Phil is a great English tutor. Our daughter wanted to learn how to structure her GCSE essays better and how to improve her language analysis. Phil has not only shown her the way but has heightened her enjoyment of literature in the process. From the start Phil has given careful thought to support our daughter`s learning. He prepares for the sessions bringing relevant resources. He marks her work and gives helpful feedback. We would have no hesitation in recommending Phil to others.

Phil has been tutoring my year 9 daughter in English for a few months now and we will definitely be continuing. My daughter finds it useful and says "he knows what he is talking about". Phil is patient, relaxed and encouraging and is helping her to learn how to think about literature and analyse texts. As a result her confidence is improving as are her school results. I would have no hestitation in recommending him.
