Information about Daniel
I am personable, driven and always want to go the extra mile to do a job properly. I have just completed a BSc in Chemistry at Durham University and am going on to study an MSc in Economics at University College London this autumn.
I will gladly tutor up to A level in Chemistry, Biology and Economics and GCSE Maths, Physics and Geography. If you`re about to start a Chemistry degree this autumn I would also love to help if you want to brush up and prepare.
At A level I have 3 A* in Chemistry, Biology and Economics and an A in Maths.
At GCSE I have 9 A*, in my A level subjects plus Physics, Geography, French and English Literature and Language.
I received the Upper Sixth Leaver`s Prize for Chemistry and was the Music Scholar for my year at school.
In my spare time I have been rowing since I was 14 at a national level and even represented the GB Universities Rowing Team in 2018 at the European Universities Games. I am somewhat of an armchair England rugby and Everton FC fan, and also enjoy watching Netflix as much as the next person, perhaps more than I should!
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: For four summers I helped with the summer rowing camp my school runs for soon-to-be year 9 pupils, teaching them the basics of rowing from scratch. This has given me an empathy and ability to communicate effectively with schoolchildren from a position of responsibility, not just as a peer. Rowing is not easy when you start, and relating sometimes abstract concepts to young teenagers taught me how to distill ideas into key, succinct points for clear understanding, tailoring the style to the individual.
I had one-on-one music tuition from when I was 4 until I was 18 with multiple tutors, and these sessions have given me a good understanding of what makes a good tutor in this scenario, to build rapport and importantly mutual respect to achieve significant results.
