Information about Mike
*Update* due to Coronovirus I am now only offering online sessions. You can expect the same high quality teaching and learning that my students have come to expect from me over my many years of science tutoring.
I offer myself as a science tutor. I can lead you to greater understanding of chemistry, biology and physics at KS3 and GCSE. I will come to you or I can arrange a suitable venue.
I can advise on exam technique, and reducing anxiety. I prefer to work with children who are aiming for a grade c and those with special educational needs.
I can make the subject accessible if you have special needs. If you hate it I will help you love it.
I describe myself as caring, gentle, professional, resourceful, adaptable, humorous, dedicated, passionate and resilient. Im a fun, effective teacher.
I am an experienced science teacher and a skilled educator of children with special needs.
My teaching experience spans 15 consecutive years across the age range of 6 to 80.
My specialism is science and in particular chemistry.
I have been praised for my interesting and engaging teaching ideas in all educational settings.
I have successfully educated and inspired learners in mainstream and special needs settings.
The skills and qualifications I have acquired enable me to effectively teach learners not only in mainstream settings, but also learners with social and emotional difficulties, low self-esteem, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and those on the autistic spectrum. I am also an experienced teacher of learners with severe learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex needs, and physical disabilities.
I believe that learners should be seen as individuals and their learning journey should start with where they are. Everyone has a way of learning that suits them best and I endeavour to use it.
Whether or not they have special needs, my aim is to enable the learner to be the best they can be.
I have excellent interpersonal skills and form excellent professional relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and where applicable other members of the multi-disciplinary team. I appreciate the value that a coherent multi-disciplinary team can bring to a learner, in particular working together sharing knowledge and skills and instilling passion, positivity and motivation.

Feedback For Mike (3)
Mike was very good at giving my child ,who is dyslexic, confidence in science . Thank you for your help Mike
Mike has built a good relationship with Bobby. Bobby`s performance at school has improved immensely.
Mike has been tutoring our three children for several sessions. The children like Mike very much. He has engaged their attention and gained their respect and their learning seems to be progressing.
Mike tutors at our home and is very easy to have around as he is relaxed and calmly carries on with tutoring the children however busy the house becomes.
Tutors Response :
