I’m Laura, a 35 year old qualified primary school teacher and mum to three (soon to be four!) 👶;🏼; My passion is helping children to achieve their full potential through building their confidence using small steps of learning. I make learning fun and engaging through getting to know the pupil and how they learn best.

Experience: I have over 17 years experience working with children. In 2006, I began working as a nursery nurse in a private day nursery and gained an NVQ Level 2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.

In 2008, whilst studying for my degree in Education, I worked in a variety of secondary schools supporting KS3/4 students and also in sure start centres in Derbyshire/Staffordshire as a supply nursery nurse.

After graduating in 2011, I had a few years at home to care for my two young daughters and then I set up my own business running pre-school arts, crafts and messy play classes in and around Leicestershire.

In 2016, I started working as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in a large, local primary school and then decided to complete a Primary PGCE at Derby University. I was graded Outstanding and qualified with a specialism in Maths.

From 2018 - 2023 I worked as a primary school teacher in KS1 (Year1/2) and during this time trained as a Mastery Maths specialist.

I am now a full time private tutor for primary aged pupils. I also work for the council to support children out of education and also in schools to provide small group tutoring for the National Tutoring Programme.

I have an enhanced DBS check and can provide both face to face and online tutoring sessions.
