Information about Charlotte
Hello! Im Charlotte, and Ive moved back up home to Liverpool (yay!) after spending 6 years training to be a doctor at the University of Cambridge. I completed my undergraduate BA degree in Natural Sciences, with specialisation in History and Philosophy of Science, at Emmanuel College, and then proceeded to the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine at Addenbrookes Hospital. I officially qualified in May 2018, and Im now working as a doctor in Liverpool. Im really passionate about teaching and completed the `Teaching To Teach` course at the University of Cambridge during my final year of study.
Availability: Im quite flexible when it comes to days and times: we can work out when would be most convenient for you! Im free Thursday and Fridays, Saturdays and Monday-Wednesday evenings.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Since 2016, I’ve been teaching at [contact detail removed]: I was an undergraduate supervisor of physiology, teaching groups of 3-4 first year students for a few hours each week, making sure that lecture material made sense and helping them to prepare for exams. I was also a clinical supervisor at the hospital, teaching junior students on the wards with patients.
I was the senior interview course instructor at [contact detail removed], a company set up by a number of friends college that aims to give students the best preparation possible for applying to study medicine at university. I’ve travelled all around the country delivering interview preparation courses to hundreds of students, as well as being employed by individual schools to run workshops for their students.
In the summers of 2018 and 2018, I travelled to Saudi Arabia, where I spent a month teaching on the Mawhiba-Oxmedica International Enrichement Program. This is an initiative pioneered by the Saudi Government to encourage and equip the brightest 13-18 year olds from across the Kingdom to study at the world’s best universities. I taught the Advanced Medical Sciences course and received outstanding feedback from both my students and the directors of the program.
I have tutored a large number of students through their A level biology and chemistry exams in the past academic year, as well as providing preparation sessions for BMAT and UKCAT exams.
