I have been a lawyer for over thirty years with a love of English. Ten years ago, I decided to study English at degree level part-time while working and obtained a First class degree with the Open University. Not content with an undergraduate degree, I have recently completed my Masters in Creative Writing. And now I have been accepted to be a teacher on the Teach First programme to start in September 2021 swapping clients for pupils and finally following my dreams of helping instil in others my love of this subject.

Availability: I am free most evenings and on the weekends.

Experience: I have tutored my children who both achieved top marks in English GCSE. I have also recently tutored 16 year old Jasmin. In her words "I did not want to get up on Sunday mornings, but Karen`s tutoring really helps and so it`s worth it. I would rate her 11/10 because not only is she a good tutor, she`s very friendly and smiley. The sessions have really upped my confidence in English language and literature and I will no longer stare at a structure question and have a mini mental break down."
