I have a degree in French, German and Spanish (2:1 from Sheffield University) and am a qualified teacher.
Availability: Flexible. Evenings and weekends are best.

Experience: I have been teaching foreign languages in schools for over 10 years. I have taught French, German and Spanish to GCSE for many years and French to A-Level and I was Head of Languages in two secondary schools. I now work part time and teach French in primary schools (4-11 year olds) and have tutored German as well as French. I also mark the GCSE exams.

I met Amanda weekly for an hour for 8 months until the pressure of work forced me to put French on hold. As a 45 year old with a D grade at GCSE french 30 years ago I was a little apprehensive but determined to improve my French so I could at least get by on holiday in France. Amanda was great. Engaging, organised, and fun, She stretched me little by little each week. My French steadily improved and I looked forward to the sessions each week. I would warmly recommend her to all.

Amanda has been helping our daughter with preparations for her French GCSE for the past year. She has been truly excellent. Through Amanda’s efforts we have seen our daughter’s language skills come on leaps and bounds. This had not only been in her technical knowledge but also in her confidence and enjoyment. Amanda has always been patient and encouraging, and flexible in her approach. Thank you!

Amanda tutored our daughter for her GCSE French exam, as she was struggling and lacking in confidence. Amanda was very friendly, enthusiastic and flexible with session times. She used a variety of resources to improve our daughter`s grasp of the language and to increase her confidence. Grade 7 (A) was achieved in the exams, so we are very pleased. Thank you Amanda.
