Hi, my name`s Joe and I`m an English Second Language and Japanese tutor.

I am fluent in Japanese (JLPT N1), having lived in the country for 8 years, so I`m happy to teach people of any ability. As I was a learner too I know exactly how to help people overcome common issues! My wife is also Japanese, so I`m well versed in not only the academic side of Japanese, but the colloquial side too.

I`ve been teaching English as a second language since 2011 and have a lot of experience teaching both kids and adults. I`m a friendly, chatty teacher who believes providing a comfortable, welcoming environment is key to improving language skills as it makes the student more willing to make mistakes and challenge themselves.

At Shane I taught students from the ages of 2 to 75. I taught daily conversation, business English, travel English, exams (TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC) as well as helping students work on presentations they were doing for work.
