Information about Shiv
Hi there! I`m a recent Physics graduate with a 2:1 from a Russell Group University. I`ve been tutoring every single year for the last ten years of my life, whether it be cadets from my cadet organisation when I was young, fellow peers at school and University, musicians in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain where I am a mentor, or my own siblings, who I tutored through their Maths and Physics A-levels and GCSEs and achieved A`s/A*`s for all qualifications. Despite getting respectable grades at school and university I always found academia a challenge. Understanding concepts was often a struggle for me and it is precisely for this very reason that I believe I am an extremely effective tutor. When I couldn`t understand a topic or concept I would have to think of abstract ways of manipulating the subject matter in front of me in order to understand it and as a result I`ve found my techniques when teaching to be particularly successful because I can adapt quickly to allow a student to gain a higher level of understanding about a given subject if I see their comprehension struggling. Studying Physics has really helped in that respect because the entire degree revolved around enhancing one`s own problem-solving skills and at the base of that is the ability to understand information.

Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am patient and I am passionate. I absolutely love teaching and it has forever been one of the most satisfying pleasures of my life, being able to see the elation in a kid`s face when they finally get their head around something tough that they`ve been stuck with for ages. I think I`d be a great fit for your organisation. Having a long lasting relationship built on trust and respect between tutor and student is extremely important to me, and it`s something I hope you`d be able to offer in the coming months.
