Information about Dario
I am now studying for the Bachelor of Arts programme in Philosophy offered by the Department of Philosophy of Kingâs College London, which is consistently ranked among the top philosophy departments in the country for research and teaching. My current choice of courses reflects a particular interest towards the areas of intersection between philosophy, mathematics and the sciences (such as formal logic, set theory, philosophy of physics, philosophy of biology) and political philosophy.
While living most of the year in London and studying for a Philosophy BA at King`s College, I am also studying as a self-taught learner for a second degree in Mathematics at the University of Milan, giving most of the exams during the summer. I plan on graduating by 2017.
In 2012 I completed my studies at the International School of Milan, one of the few schools in Italy to offer the IB diploma. The International Baccalaureate Diploma programme is an internationally recognised programme, entirely taught in English and centred on interdisciplinary thinking. The Guardian claims that it is "more academically challenging and broader than three or four A-levels".
My course choices were English Literature, Italian, Visual Arts, Physics, Economics and Mathematics.
I graduated with an extended essay titled `Quod ante me fuit`, an analysis of Seneca`s view on death in his Epistulae morales ad Lucilium, and a theory of knowledge essay on the relationship and reciprocal influences between languages and thinking.

Experience: I have been giving private lessons to high school students, undergraduate students and adult learners in different topics, such as English, Italian, Latin, mathematics, physics and biology. I have experience in tutoring, both in classes and on a one-to-one basis. I also have experience in teaching children: as part of a volunteering programme, I have been teaching English (2 hours a week) to a first grade class in the elementary school G. Giusti e C. D`Assisi, Milan during the school year 20102011 I have also taken part to a volunteering project in Sibiu, Romania organised by the Milan-based association Bambini in Romania, working with children aged 5-18 in an orphanage. I also value the ongoing experience of being a student myself, which offers helpful insights into what to avoid and what to do when I`m the one teaching.
