Information about Jodie
I am an Oxford University History graduate with an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics. I have been a tutor for 10+ years. I am a qualified teacher (PGCE Merit) with experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A-level history in North London. I am available to tutor History and International Relations ranging from KS1 to Postgraduate level.
I have always loved tutoring and teaching classes of children. I began tutoring aged 17 for GCSE students in English, Maths, History and Sciences, and and since completing my postgraduate degree I have supported university students in International Relations. I also have an array of experience teaching in more challenging circumstances - such as across refugee camps on the Greek islands.
I have worked for the Discovery Channel, backpacked around South East Asia for 8 months and ran charity campaigns across Oxford University ranging from running a Movember campaign to organising football competitions in giant hamster balls! I have no shortage of people skills and enjoy meeting new people as well as making education fun.
Availability: Online only.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have tutored privately since I was 17 years old. I taught professionally in Waltham Forest, North London, alongside in-person and online tutoring sessions externally. I have taught in Greece, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia, trained teachers in Greece and run several education centres and programmes.
I studied History for 3 years at the University of Oxford, achieving a a distinction in my thesis and a 2.1 overall. I completed my MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics in 2017 as well as a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Buckingham in 2019.

Jodie is an excellent tutor. Knows exactly how to deal with our children and was immediately liked by all.

I met with Jodi to discuss the needs of my reluctant son who had performed badly at his end of year English exam. He has had a few sessions so far and does not protest in the slightest. He is extremely comfortable with Jodie and I have no doubt she will boost his confidence as well ask his skills. Jodie is prompt in replying and communicates well with me as a parent. I would not hesitate to recommend Jodie.
