Information about William

I am a passionate teacher (rated `outstanding` in November 2014 by Ofsted) and father of one who, when I`m not teaching lessons to inquiring minds attending Babyballet, or feeding the ducks, loves the challenge of bringing the best out of other people.

I find a great deal of joy in teaching all subjects to students up to year 6 (11+) level, and particularly Mathematics and Literacy. I am also available for Music/Violin (Kodaly and Colourstrings-trained/experienced)tuition should you require it.

My interests:

Although I am no expert at any of the following, I love to do indoor climbing, swimming, and to practise learning the Spanish language (I have now achieved level B2).
A passion that I would greatly love to rekindle is motorbiking, having previously owned a Kawasaki ZX6R, which I mostly rode across the South Downs and the Chilterns.

Availability: Mondays (5pm onwards)
Tuesdays (6:30 pm onwards)

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have have been a fully trained Primary School Class Teacher since I obtained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)in 2010.

I have taught all of the Junior year groups, and have spent two years teaching in Year 6 (SATs and 11+) and two years in Year 5.

Prior to my current role as a Classroom Teacher, I taught Violin and Musicianship to students between the ages of 6 and 16, using the musicianship principals of Zoltan Kodaly having studied the Kodaly Musicianship method of pedagogy at Trinity College of Music, Greenwich, with David and Yuko Vinden. I have taught privately and at Colourstrings schools across London, and have also run music worshops across Lambeth.

In addition to my teaching expeience,I also have a considerable amount of performing experience, having worked as a classical violinist in both orchstra and chamber music settings.

5/5 Rating

William is an understanding and enthusiastic teacher who quickly identified the best way to teach my son. My otherwise reluctant child who mostly think school is boring ,refers to his teacher as being "fun" and is keen to tuck in with the new challenges. Also I really appreciate the feedback I`m getting after each lesson. I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend .
