Stephen

Hi! My name is Stephen.

I am a Secondary School Teacher in the Bedfordshire area with 5 years worth of experience in teaching GCSE students. I am also an examiner for Edexcel in Geography for GCSE.

I aim to tutor: Business Studies GCSE - Edexcel, Geography GCSE - Edexcel B and Citizenship GCSE AQA.

I am currently the Head of Department for business studies, so have developed lessons, assessments and various resources all aimed at increasing the grades of my pupils. I have also been delivering Geography and Citizenship GCSE alongside this and have a strong record of getting pupils their target grades and above across all three of these subjects.

I have an excellent rapport with the students at the school I currently teach at, and building strong, positive relationships with my pupils is something which I think is vital in helping them progress.

My aim with pupils is to first identify what their strengths and weaknesses are and create a bespoke plan on how to get them to improve using that information. I like to use a variety of tasks, mostly where the student is doing tasks that encourage thinking, leading to a deeper understanding. I also use my knowledge as an examiner to help students in their exam skills.

Experience: I am yet to tutor outside of my school experience. However as someone who has worked in the education system for 5 years and has established outstanding results, I believe that my skills will be easily transferable to a 1 on 1 setting. Over my time working in schools I have gained the following experience:

Currently am part of a `Teaching and learning team` which is aimed at improving the Teaching across schools.

I am an Edexcel Examiner and have attended various sessions on developing my marking under the edexcel exam board.
