Information about Mark

I am a friendly, patient and approachable individual who has worked with students of all ages for the past 10 years. I am a qualified teacher currently working in one of the top secondary schools in the area as a Academy Improvement Leader for Science, as well as teaching KS3 Science and GCSE Science. I have gained success with not only high achievers, but also students who find Science a challenge and I have been judged as an outstanding teacher on many occasions. I have also been involved in organising training programmes to help improve teaching and learning with the academy. In 2016, my A*-C grade pass rate for my 3 sets(90 students) in Triple Science (Biology) was 98.5%.
I am fully equipped to deliver sessions on the new AQA specification with access to numerous past papers, exam style questions and required practical techniques which are new to the syllabus. As I am head of science, I am frequently in contact with AQA to gain new ideas.
I try to help students understand the basics first, and then tackle more advanced learning with a very simple, but effective approach. Previous tutees all had success in their exams.

My Autistic Son feels calm and relaxed during his lessons with Mark and he takes all my Son`s special needs into account and teaches him on his level/pace helping my Son to feel less anxious and more supported. My Son absolutely loves Science and Mark makes his lessons very enjoyable whilst giving him the professional direction in my Son`s favourite subject which he excels in.
