I am currently a penultimate year student at University College London (UCL) studying a degree in Maths and Economics. I have been a tutor for the past 4 years and having achieved 3A*s and an A at A-Level, I feel confident in my ability to tutor all students up to A-levels. I achieved an average of 98% in Mathematics A-Level and 88% in Further Mathematics. Furthermore, my Economics papers are to be used by the school next year as exemplars to future students. Also, at GCSE level I achieved A* in all 11 subjects as well as the maximum grade of A in the notoriously difficult Free Standing Maths Qualification. Therefore, I feel I have the academic credentials to tutor those wanting to improve and excel in their subjects.
My results whilst tutoring speak for themselves, helping a student being awarded a scholarship for Eltham College as well as a strong set of GCSEs for another student including two 9s. I have also helped at Year9/10 level, guiding a student to their strongest end of year exam results to date. My feedback highlights the parents views of my tuition, not just being strong academically but also helping the student enjoy learning and building a proper bond.
Additionally, I played three sports for the school first team and the piano, showing I understand the importance of time management and pressures of school life. Furthermore, I often worked with younger children, having coached a Year 7 Football Team and been a prefect to Year 10 students. This role allowed me to help the children manage the growing pressure of public exams and I am more than willing to pass on any of this non-curriculum advice including the process of choosing GCSE subjects.
I believe that tutoring should be a more personal form of education outside of school, leading to increased success in both school and public, which is something that I believe I provide.
Finally, if I am unavailable to tutor your child for some reason, I have many friends with similar credentials that I can put you in touch with, which can also be successful shown by the feedback.
Availability: We can discuss times to meet both our needs.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have tutored five students over the past two years. I have had excellent results in 2019, with a student achieving level 9 in Maths and Physics, whilst another level 8 in Physics. In each case, these were improvements by 2 levels from earlier predicted grades.Contact this Tutor
Previously, I regularly tutored a student in Maths and Science at KS3 Level whilst the other passed his GCSE Maths with A* this summer. My third from that year was awarded a scholarship for Eltham College (a highly competitive private school.)
I have been turning up reliably and punctually each week and enjoy engaging with the student- supported by their feedback comments.
Furthermore, I have also helped to tutor my younger sister into a highly competitive secondary school and have continued to assist her in the majority of her subjects.
Finally. I feel that I know how to bring out the best in my students in an engaging but constructive manner.
