Information about Eleanor
I am a fully qualified Chemistry teacher with over eight years experience of teaching children in grammar, comprehensive and private secondary school education, and I have a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Oxford University. I have taught syllabuses for a variety of exam boards throughout Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level and the International Baccalaureate. I am also an experienced private tutor, having provided one-to-one teaching for school students and adult learners alike.
As a form tutor I have had significant pastoral responsibilities and understand the personal challenges that pupils face. Having been part of a university UCAS team for Oxbridge and Medicine applications, I know the highly competitive process that students face today, and the vital importance of top examination results.
Above all, I am enthusiastic about Science in general and Chemistry in particular, and enjoy inspiring, teaching and helping students to succeed academically and to understand the world around them.
Whether you or your child needs help getting to grips with the basics, targeting challenging topics, or preparing for examinations, I can provide expert, personalised support. I am patient and encouraging. I have a range of materials ready for use, and can take creative approaches to explain difficult concepts in a way that the student will understand.
I am keen to help those who find Chemistry challenging, and to stretch those who have a good foundation of knowledge. Many of my students have gained places at top universities to study Chemistry, Medicine and other science degrees, and I look forward to helping you or your child succeed.
