Information about Michelle
I am a mother of two sons and find teaching rewarding.
I offer friendly and professional sessions for all those wishing to improve their English or achieve better grades in their Functional Skills, GCSE or A level qualifications.
I have been tutoring for the past 6 years from Year 2 to A’ Level, which has covered phonics, KS3 skills, GCSE syllabi of Edexel, AQA and CIE iGCSE. This has included resit English Language, current syllabus English Language and Literature. The personal and individualised learning, I have found especially enjoyable. Although my lessons are skills based moving towards the relevant key stage, I aim to provide fun interactive lessons, especially at Primary level.
I am currently a GCSE English Language Marker for a leading Exam board.
Availability: I have availability for 2023-24 academic year.

Experience: I have over 23 years teaching experience. At first, I taught clients, both face-to-face and over the telephone, how to use specialist software. Then I qualified as a teacher of English for Secondary Education. Over the past 20 years, I have taught across the age and ability ranges including KS3, KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A`Level) both in schools and through private tuition. I am familiar with and have received training on the new GCE A` Level and GCSE specifications and am an Examiner for one of the major exam boards.

Michelle provided some sessions for my Y10 son who was finding it hard to get higher grades in Macbeth work. She quickly engaged my son in understanding the text in greater depth and was very flexible to fit sessions in evenings over the summer. He is now more confident ready to continue his GCSE in September. My son and I would recommend Michelle as she is knowledgeable, approachable and an excellent teacher.

Michelle came to my son for 6 weeks prior to his GCSEs for extra revision in English language. Michelle was always very professional. My son got on well with her and found her sessions very helpful and beneficial. I would certainly recommend her and am pleased to have had her.
