Information about Abdul Hadi
I am a first year student at Oxford University studying Engineering Science. I achieved five grade 9s and four grade 8s at GCSE with my main strength being Mathematics. I then went on to achieve A*A*A* at A Level in Maths, Physics and Computer Science.
Having completed my GCSEs only three years ago and coming out with all 8s and 9s, I have a strong understanding of what it takes to get the best grades possible within the new GCSE 9-1 system. As a tutor, rather than teaching students how to memorise methods and answers, I aim to teach students a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of the subject and how to apply them in different situations to be able to answer any question. I find this kind of problem-solving skill is what is key to coming out with the best possible grades in both GCSEs and A-Levels. Furthermore, having completed my secondary education recently, I can advise students how to revise and manage their workload effectively in order to maximise their exam preparation within the timeframe they have.
As a tutor, my teaching style and lesson plan will be purely focused around the student. This involves a strong line of communication between me and the student in order to understand exactly which areas the student needs help in and which learning methods are most effective for them specifically. This kind of tailored approach is important in effective teaching as I find each student learns differently so each student should also be taught differently. Once the student informs me as to what they need help with, I will then proceed to use a variety of teaching methods depending on the students needs - this could involve going through theory in order to cement the student`s basic knowledge, working through exam questions to work on the students application of theory or looking through examiner reports to help the students identify and common mistakes and marks dropped and help them to get into the top grades.
