I am a qualified English language teacher and tutor based in Perth, in addition to my ‘day job’ in copywriting/marketing for a creative display firm.

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 8 years now and have full PVG cover.

With experience in teaching groups of a variety of sizes I have developed a particular love of one-to-one/small group tutoring – particularly for young learners. I strongly believe that a more personalised teaching approach allows for subsequent learning benefits just can’t be replicated in a larger group setting.

Availability: I’m available for students to come to my home in central Perth on Saturdays between 9am and 2pm and, if you would prefer for me to visit you in your own home, I would be available for this on weekday evenings from 6:30pm or any time at the weekend.

The cost for a one-hour lesson in my own home would be £30.00. However, I’m also very happy to come to you - any travel up to a 30 mile round trip would be £5.00 more per session, while further travel (up to a maximum of a 50 mile round trip) would be £10.00 more per session.

Experience: I received my English literature degree from the University of Edinburgh (MA Hons) in 2011 and then went on to qualify as an English Language teacher in 2012.

I initially began my teaching and tutoring career in Fife and, having lived and worked in both Spain and Italy in the last five years, I have worked with students ranging from as young as 4 up to adult learners - both within and outside of the UK.

I believe that, more often than not, a student’s lack of confidence in their abilities is what’s standing in the way of them performing to their full potential.

Once a seed a of doubt is sown it’s very easy to become overwhelmed by a subject that perhaps doesn’t come entirely naturally - this is where one-to-one tutoring can be a huge advantage to the learning process.

By creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere in which to experiment with the subject - without the pressures of a traditional classroom - confidence can be repaired and targets met without any stress.
