In January 2019 I left mainstream education to become a full-time private tutor of Chemistry and offer tuition via my website.

Education has been my passion for many years. I have been fortunate to work in a wide variety of environments and different education systems, each with its own unique philosophy. This wide breadth of experience has allowed me to develop my own skills and approaches designed to get the very best out of individuals. I am, naturally, a very approachable person, and will never criticise someone for not knowing something. This is a vital characteristic for one-to-one tuition in that it allows me to very quickly develop a safe environment with openness and trust at the centre. This is combined with a high level of subject knowledge and experience as an examiner which allows me to identify a student’s strengths and weaknesses and provide targeted support in a positive way.
I am very proud of my achievements in mainstream education, and the decision to leave to pursue private tuition was not taken lightly. One of my aspirations is to help as many young people as I can and this objective is pursued via my blog. From this year, I will also be holding a series of webinars for A Level Chemistry students preparing for their final exams, allowing students to access high quality private tuition in their own homes for a very reasonable price.
I have also been a Sixth Form Head of Year for five years and have helped many students with successful UCAS applications for subjects such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, Physics and (yes, you’ve guessed it) Chemistry. Hour long fortnightly group lessons for Y12 and Y13 are available over the weekend and charged at half price of a one-to-one lesson. Contact me for more information.

Experience: I have thirteen years of experience teaching Chemistry to students of all abilities from the ages of 11-18 and have taught a wide variety of GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Chemistry specifications in both the public and private sector. My former schools were rated outstanding in all areas by OFSTED and the Independent Schools Inspectorate. As a full-time teacher of Chemistry, my subject knowledge, curriculum knowledge and expertise in the most effective teaching techniques are up to date. I also have five years of experience as an A Level Chemistry examiner for AQA.
