Information about Jack

I am an undergraduate mathematics student at the Univeristy of Bath. I am an effective communicator of Maths and have taught A-Level lessons when needed along with mentoring key stage 3 students within my school/sixth form.

I have been a top achiever having earned a grade 9 (A**) in Maths at GCSE and achieved A*A* in both Maths and Further Maths. With the Covid-19 outbreak, and the closures of UK schools, many pupils will be left having not fully completed the acedemic year with potential knowledge gaps in their maths courses.

I will be able to teach students in areas of weakness or missing content to ensure they are fully equipped with the necessary knowledge for exams. With a full strong and in depth understanding of especially the edexcel course (very happy to cater for both AQA and OCR sepcifications).

I have been fluent with Maths from a very young age and I have always been driven to expand my knowledge and to truley understand what I’m learning. I want to help share my passion for maths with others and help students engage in their learning by not only helping students to understand what they are learning but nurturing an appreciation for aspects of mathmatics

I am able to tutor:

Key stage 3: Mathmatics
GCSE: Mathmatics and Further Mathmatics
A-Level: Mathmatics,
A-Level Further Maths: If you are looking for help in Further Maths. I have an incredibly strong understanding again of the Edexcel course for the certain topic areas (Core Pure 1&2,
Mechanics 1, Decision 1)

Unfortunately, while I have a basic level of understanding for the content of further core pure and further statistics, I`m not yet comfortable tutoring others in this area.

Other specifcations such as AQA and OCR share many similar topics from the edexcel course so please don`t refrain from asking if this is the area you were needing tutoring in!

Having left Year 13 Last year, this year I have been enriching my Mathematical understanding to a deeper level, learning topics beyond what I learned in college, while also completing a 5th A-Level in Computer science with the aim of starting university with a broader field and scope in Mathematics.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: While I have no previous official experience tutoring, I have taught classes for A-Level in the absence of my teachers when needed. I have also tutored within my school helping year 9 students in maths who have needed additional support on a weekly basis. I have walked through many questions and topics with students who were in my school helping them understand and be equipped to complete questions and topics they previously struggled on.
