Information about Hannah
I specialise in biology but I also have experience with chemistry, physics and maths. I have studied biology to an MSc level and I have had previous work experience in a science setting. I have worked for the RBG Kew and at a secondary school as a laboratory technician. I have completed a PGDipEd at the University of Birmingham and I have trained in Secondary Schools across Birmingham with KS3, KS4 and KS5 pupils. I am now studying a PhD in biology at the University of Birmingham.
I will assess the student`s needs and establish realistic targets for achievement. I can provide short term tuition with revision and preparation for an exam, and also long term tuition concentrating on challenging areas of the subject.
Availability: Evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have worked one to one with pupils and with small groups of children in the classroom. I have undertaken practical demonstrations to the whole class. I have supervised three work experience students on placement in the laboratory. I have been a co-form tutor for age 11-16 pupils. I have taught KS3 and KS4 Edexcel science, and KS5 biology. I also have experience with AQA and OCR exam boards. I have worked with SEN pupils and those that are gifted and talented. I enjoy the work and I like being able to make a difference.
