I am fully qualified teacher of English with a First Class BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing and a Masters degree in Creative Writing with English Literature for which I was awarded a Distinction. I have worked as a teacher for over ten years; prior to this, I worked in academic publishing. I also work as an occasional freelance journalist, writing articles on literature and travel and health. I have worked as an advisor on two A Level English Language and English Literature text books, ghost written a book on poetic metre and form, and have designed online courses for various education companies. Having lived in China, Togo and Hungary, I have travelled widely within Asia, Africa and Europe and, when I am not teaching, I love hiking, cycling, canoeing, yoga, spending time with my family and cooking.

Experience: I am a highly qualified, enthusiastic and professionally-minded English teacher, educated to Masters level with Qualified Teacher Status and experience teaching across the whole secondary age and ability range. With over ten years of teaching experience, I am familiar with GCSEs, IGCSEs, A Levels and IB. I am also deeply experienced in preparing students from age 10 upwards for independent and grammar school entrance exams, including ISEB and Common Entrance, 11plus, 13plus, 14plus and 16plus, as well as CAT4, UKiset and also IELTS.
