Hello, I`m Dan, a fully qualified and experienced teacher and tutor with extensive experience supporting pupils from EYFS through to GCSE level.

I have taught in schools across the full primary age range and have specialist knowledge of early reading, phonics, SATs preparation, and the primary National Curriculum. Alongside my classroom experience, I have been tutoring for almost six years, helping students build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve their academic goals through personalised one-to-one support.

My current role within the education sector involves developing and reviewing educational content and teaching resources for learners from EYFS to Key Stage 5. This allows me to maintain an up-to-date understanding of curriculum requirements, teaching approaches and assessment expectations across a wide range of subjects and age groups.

I am also proud to be a member of a review panel working with the Standards and Testing Agency (STA), contributing to the development and review of national assessment materials. This experience gives me valuable insight into how assessment materials are designed and what successful learners need to demonstrate.

My tutoring sessions are engaging, structured, and tailored to the individual learner. I combine clear teaching, interactive activities and regular opportunities for practice and feedback to ensure lessons are both enjoyable and effective. Whether supporting a younger child with phonics and literacy, building confidence in mathematics, or helping older students prepare for assessments, I focus on creating a positive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make progress.

As a qualified teacher, educational content specialist, and active school governor, I bring a broad understanding of education and child development, alongside a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Availability: I am available for online tutoring throughout the week and can often offer flexible daytime, evening, and weekend appointments.

For in-person tutoring, weekday sessions after 4:00 pm are usually most suitable, although I can often be flexible depending on location and availability. Please get in touch to discuss arrangements and preferred lesson times.

Experience: I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching across all primary year groups, from EYFS through to Year 6. My particular strengths include phonics, reading, writing and mathematics, alongside preparation for statutory assessments including the Phonics Screening Check and Key Stage 2 SATs.

In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have successfully tutored students from primary age through to KS3 and GCSE. I create and develop educational resources professionally for learners from EYFS to KS5, giving me an excellent understanding of curriculum progression and assessment expectations across different age groups.

I currently contribute to the review and development of national assessment materials through my work with the Standards and Testing Agency review panel and remain actively involved in education through my role as a school governor.
