Delphine

My name is Delphine. I have been a teacher of mathematics for 17 years in Hampshire (UK). My last employer was a non-selective outstanding sixth form college. At the start of my career, I taught KS3 and KS4 programmes in a secondary school for 7 years. I have an excellent experience in teaching A-Level Mathematics and GCSE (including GCSE resit and adult class). My extensive expertise helps students to build their confidence in mathematics and to well prepare them for their examinations. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy walking in the countryside and at the seaside, travelling, and reading books. If you are interested in strengthening your mathematical knowledge or gaining confidence in mathematics, I am confident that we can work effectively together to make great progress.

Experience: As an experienced teacher I take pride in planning my lessons carefully and tailoring them to the needs of my students. I enjoy modifying existing exam questions to improve the problem-solving skills of my students or to help my students to access the more challenging questions. I listen carefully my students in order to recognise the topics or skills that they already master or must consolidate.
I organise sessions efficiently: preparing questions on the topics that my students would like to prioritise or topics that I feel that are essential for the progress of my students (gaps in their knowledge); answering any questions from an assignment or practice exercise that students might have found challenging; regularly answering exam questions with guided techniques and providing additional questions to consolidate what was done during the session.
