I`m a native English-speaker, experienced in teaching General and Business English to students, aged 18-80, from 20+ countries around the world. I`ve taught private students at their homes, as well as groups at Language schools and Community Centres. My first career, was as an IT Manager, leading global IT projects in all geographic regions. I`ve also been a founder of small business - retail, consultancy and social enterprise. I`ve been educated to Masters level, completed a research thesis on cultural diversity, and had articles published in academic journals.

My motivation in teaching English is to open doors for all people from minority cultural groups, to enable them to thrive with new confidence and communication skills.

I have direct business, project, and inter-cultural experiences in more than 20 countries around the world, so I have a first-hand understanding of how it feels to struggle with a 2nd language. I have moved to a country where I could not speak the language at all.

With private tuition, everything is customised for you. You choose, when, where, what and how you want to learn. You have the full attention of the teacher. No interruptions, no embarrassment.

Where do you teach?
It’s your choice. I can teach at your place or mine. I can teach in cafes, classrooms, or in other public places. Whatever works best for you.

Are you a qualified English Language teacher? Yes I am.
I have CELTA (Cambridge) qualified ESL teacher status. In also have UK DBS security clearances to teach. These can be provided for you to see.

Experience: How can I help you with learning General English?
I have experience teaching General English to “English as a Second Language” adults of all ages, at all levels. My students have been aged from 16 to 80. They have come from 23 different countries around the world. I teach all levels from complete Beginner to Advanced.

What about English conversation practice?
I can provide one-to-one conversation practice on any subject of your choice.
I’ve also run community conversation clubs in public places for practicing with other learners.

Can I help with Academic English? Sure I can.
I can help with academic writing, discussion, proof reading and editing. I have experience with academic writing for industry journals, conferences, research papers and student awards.

Can you help with Business English? Yes, I can.
I can help with all aspects of English language skills for business – report writing, communications, meetings, job applications and cultural differences. I have specific business experience in the Aviation, IT, Education, Health and Insurance industries.

I have prepared customised Business English workshops for international businesspersons, including foreign government officials. I’ve also led business workshops specifically for ESL learners wishing to prepare business cases and project plans in English.
