Information about Jamie
I`m Jamie, I`m 28 years old working as a freelancer. At the age of 10 I moved abroad from the UK to the Netherlands and then to Italy before moving back to the UK for university in 2012. Living abroad and attending international schools gave me exposure to people from many different backgrounds leading to an appreciation of different cultures, values and ways of doing things at an early age.
At GCSE I achieved 5 A/A*s and during sixth form I completed the International Baccalaureate program achieving 34 points securing a place at my first choice university, Newcastle University. I graduated in 2016 from Geography and Urban Planning degree then worked in graduate recruitment for 2 years before moving into HR/Talent Acquisition.
Availability: At the moment I am fully available for new students and can accommodate existing schedules and commitments.

Experience: I currently work as a Human Resources consultant and a large part of my role is to facilitate interactive workshops with directors in order to brainstorm and formulate ideas (I`m a qualified Agile Project Manager). This resonates with the way I would plan essays and prepare for exams throughout my education; I`m a visual learner who likes to breakdown information into digestible diagrams, tables, anagrams, charts etc that are easier to remember and recite.
In my professional career I`ve also mentored and managed junior staff helping them to develop their skills by coaching them approaches from management frameworks (OKRs, Agile, SixSigma) giving them a toolkit of concepts which are not only applicable in a professional or educational setting but also in day to day life.
As part of my role as a consultant I often have to introduce systems which are new to the company I`m working with. The software is quite complex and the user normally has little interest in learning how to use it so over the years I`ve developed an ability to create learning programs which are engaging and easily referenced for users to go back and relearn parts they`re unsure of in their own time with worksheets, recorded presentations etc.
I started one to one tutoring as an additional occupation around 9 months ago and have since tutored two students; one was GCSE level Geography and Sciences in an ongoing weekly basis to supplement their learning and help plan coursework, and the other was to prepare for A level exams - which was focusing on exam technique, Geography and Business Studies. I received good feedback from both student and parents as you can see in my references!
