Information about Pamela
I am a very experienced English teacher living in Bedfordshire. I tutor learners of all abilities and help them progress quickly. I am enthusiastic, helpful and friendly. As I also mark exams for the exam board I have a greater insight into how to attain the most marks possible on each question. I am a great believer in empowering my tutees by helping them increase their confidence which supports them to progress quicker and attain higher marks in their assessments/exams.
Availability: Evenings during the week and various times during the day at weekends.

Experience: An English specialist who has been teaching for 15 years. Having been a head of English in a large successful secondary school I am well aware of the pressures and issues facing learners today and I enjoy helping students to progress quickly through one to one tuition.
Currently teaching: GCSE English Language and English Literature/A Level Literature. KS3 English Language and Literature.
In addition, I also mark GCSEs (Language/Literature) for the exam board in the summer; this gives me an insight into exactly how to help the learners attain the highest marks they can.

Highly recommend!
Pamela provided our daughter excellent guidance and tuition improving the GCSE English Literature result by 3 grades - from 4 to 7 - between the Mocks and the Finals. We felt a bit awkward engaging a Private Tutor so close to the exams (actually only 3 months before) but once it became apparent that our daughter had not been taught some of the true fundamentals it felt justified. Our recommendation would be to engage Pamela early so as to really benefit from her knowledge. Since Pamela also marks exams the pointers she provided on what examiners are looking for reinforced the study periods so as to provide definite goals.

Pamela improved my daughter’s GCSE English Language grade enormously. She had been consistently achieving a grade 5 but needed to achieve a higher grade for future applications, etc. Pamela went over her past papers / mocks and was able to quickly identify what needed to be targeted. The issues were addressed very effectively in a few 1:1 sessions and associated homework tasks in the lead up to her exams which my daughter then achieved an amazing grade 8 in!!! Can’t thank Pamela enough.

Pamela has been amazing so far in helping my son with his confidence and skills for his English language and literature GCSE’s. Cannot recommend Pamela highly enough!
