Information about Bandana
I have a Master`s Degree, a Postgraduate Certificate(PGcert)in education and BSc in Nursing. I was recently awarded the position of Honorary Lecturer at GKT Medical school, King`s College London. Other teaching awards include excellence in teaching 2018 and 2019 both from King`s College London.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and progressed into teaching following a successful Nursing Career. My approach is very much about working in partnership with the learner with a particularly sensitive approach to child learners. I am a great believer in the importance of building confidence in the learner and creating a non-judgemental safe environment where the child feels safe and comfortable, able to ask a question without fear of judgement and ridicule, and feels fully engaged in the teacher-learner process.
Watching a student develop in confidence and knowledge in a particular topic is very rewarding for me. Overall, I believe that teachers who love teaching help learners to love learning!
Availability: Saturday 10:00- 1600
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have five years of experience in teaching. As a mother of 2 little boys, aged 6 and 10, I have provided them with home tuition which is a significant factor that enabled my son to gain scholarship place at a top preparatory school in London.
I see feedback as a big part of the learning process and to work on where improvement needed while reinforcing the positive feedback simultaneously. I believe in providing emotional support and actively listening to the child in the learning process. Hence, my approach is more like a combination of a mentor and a Tutor.
