Hi my name is Carla and I am a Qualified Teacher of English, I am also an English Language GCSE Examiner.
I have been working as a full time Tutor for the past eight years in various schools, learning centres, behavioural units and students` homes. Prior to that I taught in a Further Educational College.
As a teacher I have successfully taught Functional Skills, KS2, KS3 and KS4 to a range of ages and abilities.
Tutoring is my career of choice as I find it allows a strong bond to develop between teacher and student, which leads to productive and successful lessons. A lot of children can be overwhelmed and lack confidence when placed in large classes and feel more comfortable in a one to one environment. They are more at ease to say they don`t understand a topic and need help, with patience and understanding being the key to unlock their potential.
Through my role as an examiner I have a greater understanding of what is required at GCSE level and am therefore able to offer sessions which specifically focus on what is needed.
