During a teaching career of 24 years I have taught in three secondary schools. I have worked with many different students across the ability range. Within the school setting I have held many different roles, most recently being Head of Physics for 12 years Thomas Alleyne`s, Uttoxeter. Prior to that I have been a Head of Year for 9 years (Y7-Y11). I stopped classroom teaching in 2016. Over the last few years I`ve been involve several local charities; Forest Schools initiative prior to C-19 restrictions, and Connex volunteer service. I continue to teach physics & science, only now as a private tutor.

Availability: Available Monday-Thursday 4-9pm, daytime sessions are also available

Experience: I have extensive experience delivering the science curriculum to students across the ability range. I have taught science at KS3 and KS4, physics at KS4 and A level, along with IB. For all these course I have developed schemes of work for students of all abilities.

As a Head of Year, Head of Physics and classroom teacher I have learnt that each student has their own set of strengths and weaknesses and so I can adapt my teaching and support as necessary.

I`ve supported several students since leaving the classroom and all of them have improved their understanding of the subject matter. Some youngsters have needed support understanding the underpinning ideas, whereas others have struggled with question interpretation. I have a wide range of resources and the necessary experience that can help students improve.
