Information about Verity
English teacher and mum of two young boys. I am currently stepping back from classroom teaching while my children are young: tutoring offers more flexibility which is what we need presently to keep family life in balance.
My specialist areas are developing confidence and creativity where a love of English/reading/writing has perhaps waned __ developing ideas and stretching thinking to build strong foundations for independent thought and analysis.
Availability: Available for local in-person tutoring during school hours Thursday and Friday, and for online tuition weekday evenings, 5-6pm, 6-7pm, 8-9pm.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Secondary school English teacher and experienced GCSE examiner for English Literature and English Language. 10 years` classroom experience as well as 2 years as English department leader, leading literacy strategies across all subjects, and curriculum design for engagement and progress.
I am looking to offer support to KS3 and GCSE students with their progress in English.
