I have spent hundreds of hours working one-to-one with students. This may provide support crucial to exam success, or an opportunity to stretch and inspire able students.
I have taught: History at KS3, GCSE, and A-level Government and Politics at A-Level Religious Studies at GCSE. I have been solely responsible for planning schemes of work for these courses, assessing pupils` progress, and responding accordingly. I have also worked closely with teachers of French in establishing cross-curricular links. For two years, aged seventeen and eighteen, I taught French for two hours a week in a local middle school.
I have also worked in the Admissions Office of St John`s College, Cambridge. As Schools Liaison Officer, I provided guidance on Oxbridge applications to numerous schools of all types, through talks, workshops, and trips. I have been closely involved in supporting university applications as a teacher, and all my A Level students have achieved a place.
I look forward to hearing from you and discussing how we can work together.
Comments from previous students:
Andrew has one of the greatest minds that someone can have. He has incredible knowledge on many things and it`s his understanding that is intriguing. He has helped expand my thinking of things and definitely helped me understand History more. He has his moments of comedy and has been a pleasure knowing him.
I`m happy I can say I met such an interesting teacher and person. I`ve know him since my GCSE years and he helped me get an A in History when it wasn`t looking very likely.
No one can deny Andrew`s sincere passion for teaching and learning. We also cannot deny that his fountain of knowledge is admirable. I am so grateful to have had such an inspiring and enthusiastic History teacher. He will be deeply missed next year, and the Class of 2018 wish him the absolute best in his studies and the future.
