Hello, my name is Lauren and I have been a tutor since I was 16 years old, which seems like a long time now.
I have spent many hours as a tutor with GCSE students of varying ability and have always found the position of tutor to be both engaging and rewarding. I believe that I can make (and have made) a difference to students lacking confidence in maths and science by igniting their passion for the subject in which they are struggling, and all feedback that I have received to date has confirmed that the young people I have tutored have improved and enjoyed the subject more.

Availability: I am available for regular daytime or evening sessions throughout the week with the exception of Tuesday and Friday evenings on which I sing with local choirs. I am also available for Sunday sessions.

Experience: Throughout my life being a Maths and Sciences tutor has involved supervising the education of individual or group learners aged 10-18 who needed extra support in their study of maths or science. In this role, I have been responsible for the oversight of groups of learners with varying abilities, meaning I have knowledge of how to ensure that each learner is working attentively and on appropriate materials. I have also been able to develop an effective and flexible teaching style. My extensive experience with these subjects has also given me an in-depth understanding of the curriculum content, typical exam papers and mark distributions within questions. I have previously also been involved in a project centring around the improvement of a system by which the progress of learners was tracked and their work allocated.
