Information about Thevinth

I am an Economics graduate from Queen Mary University of London.I now work for a global financial technology firm as analyst/consultant. I have 5+ years experience tutoring students at various level.

I have always enjoyed tutoring, in particular because I like to inspire and help my students achieve academic success.

I am passionate about Economics and whilst teaching Economics to my students, I develop a personal study plan for each one according to their understanding of the material. By taking into consideration their targets, time to exams, board and understanding of the material, I devise a personal timetable.

I very often break complex concepts into easiest building blocks. I relate the concepts to real life and bring life to Economics using current, accessible examples and ideas to really engage with my students.

I strongly believe in interactive teaching using different techniques and methodologies to suit my students. I work with past papers and help my students to hone their skills in exam like situations. My core teaching values incorporate academic confidence building and setting targets. I focus on working towards our goals in an energetic environment to be successful.

I tend to use a scientific approach to my classes and like to structure my Economics lessons in the following way:

1)Revise/explain topic (theoretical approach)

2)Real life examples and comparisons (practical approach)

3)Questions and exercises (problem solving approach)

4)Summary

I make use of graphs and diagrams to help students improve their understanding of the various topics covered.
