Information about Joshua
Hey there!
I`m Josh, a Ph.D. researcher in engineering at the University of Warwick with a passion for teaching mathematics at GCSE and A-Level. I have previously tutored students at GCSE and A-Level at a mathematics clinic weekly and would also be happy to talk about my experience applying to Engineering and offer support in writing personal statements for university applications.
I typically run online zoom sessions which are tailored to what topics the student would like to cover, which can then develop into a longer term lesson plan to focus across all topics a student would like to cover. The student will also have access to a OneNote drive where contents, such as solutions to questions, will be saved after the lesson These sessions will roughly be broken down into explaining the content through my personal prepared notes, such as the theory/intuition and methods used, and then applying the content learnt through relevant worked examples. Students will be provided with my personal lesson notes and recommended questions to complete after the lesson to revise.
Whether you only want a few lessons or a whole course taught, I am happy to help.

My son has only been having 1;1 classes with Joshua for 4 weeks, an even I`m surprised in such a short space of time how much my sons confidence has grown due to him now understanding subjects being taught in school. Before Joshua he was failing tests. On his most recent test he scored above half, which has helped with his confidence, and I have Joshua`s approach and teaching methods to thank for this. Joshua appears very relaxed, with a calm demeanour. He does not attempt to rush teaching, allowing time for my son to learn and understand the question a hand, at his own pace. I have confidence that with Joshua`s help, my son will pass his GCSE`s with flying colours.

So glad we found Josh to help my daughter with maths as she prepares for her GCSE`s. Josh is very patient with her, explains each topic clearly and always makes sure she fully understands before he moves onto the next topic. As a result of these sessions my daughters grades are already improving and we are seeing a massive difference in how confident she is with maths.
