Information about James
Hello my name is James, I am currently teaching year 6. I graduated from Edge Hill University with a PGCE in Primary Education with PE specialist.
I am an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher. As a full time teacher, I am constantly kept up to date with current practices and expectations of the curriculum. In addition to my role as year 6 teacher, I am also my schools PE lead.
The reason behind wanting to help children with their learning is; through my experience of working in Key Stage 2, I totally understand how children can struggle to meet the expectations of the curriculum. I get to see first hand how children can find SATs stressful and worrying. By working predominantly in upper key stage 2, this has given me a wealth of experience in getting children ready for their SATs.
I mainly take on children from KS1 and KS2 with a focus on raising attainment and SATs preparation, particularly in maths, reading and writing.
Being a recently qualified teacher (within the last 5 years), Id like to think that I add fresh and new ideas to the profession. One of my main strengths is being able to build a strong rapport with the children I teach. I consider myself to be approachable and try to make learning as fun as possible. I have a passion for teaching and I find great satisfaction when I see children having their lightbulb moments.
My interests outside of teaching mainly evolve around sports, inparticular football. The children in my class will have some good chats with me about fixtures from the previous weekend on a Monday morning. I look forward to speaking with you and to hopefully helping you and your child with their studies.
Thanks for reading, if you have any queries please dont hesitate to contact me.

James has been great with our 9 year old son to the point where our son actually looks forward to his lesson with James! Due to James being a current year 5 teacher it has really helped with what my son is struggling with and finding different ways to help him understand it. I would definitely recommend James.
Mr. James is very friendly, reliable and experienced teacher. Within few months, he helped my daughter to improve her language and mathematical skills to a great extent. I am so happy to recommend him for KS2 students.
