Information about Ella
I have always enjoyed teaching and have loved the last 3 years in my school. I would really like to maintain my curriculum knowledge and teaching skills whilst I work in another sector and tutoring is an excellent way of doing this.
I now work in the innovation unit in TeachFirst for a company called ImpactEd - I am the school partnership manager.
I trained through TeachFirst and have taught for 3 years in a challenging Inner London school. I was awarded Outstanding in every teaching standard and was promoted in my second year to a role which demonstrated my excellent teaching skills. Alongside this my subject and curriculum knowledge is shown in my consistently excellent GCSE results. I really enjoyed teaching and was absolutely committed to my pupils success. I ran regular tutoring sessions for my year 11 and 12 students throughout the last 3 years outside of school hours so am experienced in 1:1 tutoring. This has meant my subject and curriculum knowledge is very strong and is demonstrated by my consistently excellent GCSE results. However, I am now working within the third sector in education so am available throughout the week whilst I apply to jobs.
Availability: My hours are flexible - I can dictate my own working hours every day and I can also work from home. This means I can fit in tutoring around your schedule.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I trained through TeachFirst after graduating from Newcastle University in 2015 as a Secondary School Science Teacher Lilian Baylis Technology School, London.
TeachFirst is a highly competitive scheme where participants teach in a school with high levels of deprivation after only six weeks training. I was awarded Outstanding against all 8 teaching standards and passed my PGCE at distinction level. I have further developed the ability to:
Communicate strongly; assert my authority, work in a team.
Support those in need and deliver action based targets to all my pupils to ensure their academic and personal achievements.
Meticulously organise my time and meet deadlines in a high pressured environment.
Subject Leader in Teaching and Learning: Secondary School Science Teacher Lilian Baylis Technology School, London
Alongside teaching, my responsibilities included;
Designing, deploying and evaluating whole school CPD, mentoring, coaching and developing members of staff.
Collaborating with senior management, as well as external consultants to inform whole school policy and secure constant professional development of my colleagues.
Initiation and facilitation of a formalised Teach First training programme within my school.
All previous teaching responsibilities alongside the addition of A-level Biology.

Ella is extremely professional and an excellent tutor. She has been quick to work out and address our sons misconceptions in Gcse Biology as well as teach precisely to his exam board question style. This is exactly what was needed. I fully recommend her.
