Information about Dawn

I am a French and Spanish tutor. I am a qualified teacher with a degree in French and a Masters in Intercultural Communication and Education. I gained knowledge of Spanish from spending time in South America, Mexico and Spain and completed a subject knowledge enhancement course in Spanish at the Institute of Education in London. I instil confidence in learners as I have multiple years` experience of working with students of different abilities. Not only am I passionate about the languages that I teach, I also provide a cultural context to the learning.

Availability: Currently available during day time, evenings and weekends.

Willing to travel: 12 miles

Experience: I have ten years` experience of working in schools as a qualified teacher in England. I have taught French at key stage 3, 4 (GCSE) and 5 (A Level), as well as Spanish at key stage 3 and 4. I have had great success with the GCSE and A Level classes that I have taught and have a track record of raising the attainment of less confident students. On getting to know my students, I provide tailored strategies for success for each individual. I have been a Head of Department of Modern Foreign Languages so am very familiar with examination syllabuses and marking criteria, as I have overseen examination moderation and been responsible for ensuring examination coursework requirements are adhered to. I have developed content and teaching strategies to cater for the new specifications of GCSE languages exams that take effect in 2018.
