Hi there. Is your 7-11-year-old lacking in confidence when it comes to Maths & English?Do they need to be taught strategies to boost their learning? Perhaps you are thinking of entering them into the 11+ and just want to get them prepared.

I am a fun and friendly Primary Maths & English tutor, who believes that learning should be a fun and interactive process. How many of you still remember things from when you were at school, simply because they were taught in a memorable way?

I am a firm believer in mental maths strategies being the core foundation of all aspects of maths learning. I have found that once children have a firm grounding in this, they progress at an accelerated pace.

I teach in a London primary school and am also a trained ELSA (Emotional Learning Support Assistant). I can quickly identify gaps and target your child`s learning to ensure these gaps are filled. So many gaps in learning are discovered when a child reaches Year 6. As a result of Covid, we are seeing more and more of this.

In KS2 English, the focus is very much on Reading Comprehension and teaching key GPS (Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling) features in order to teach children `the author`s voice`. Writing should be cohesive and have the ability to engage the reader. I use a targeted creative writing scheme which will help your child to achieve this.

I teach by following the National Curriculum and I always aim to move children from Expected level to Greater Depth with personalized and focused learning in all areas.

With over 7 years experience of tutoring, I am highly skilled in SATS preparation as well as general boosting of confidence in Maths and English. In addition, I have an enhanced DBS and can provide immediate feedback to parents after each session as well as setting home learning.
