I`m went in to teaching because I love stories, and so English Literature was the sensible career path! I am a mum of 2 based in Birmingham, a keen cook and avid film enthusiast. I enjoy tutoring as it allows me to make precise, clear progress with individuals, whether it just be 2-3 sessions to increase confidence in a specific aspect of the subject (particularly helpful after Covid disruption) or more long-term support with a range of skills. I am able to provide online support in a relatively flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings to suit us both.
My job is to help you to love this subject as much as I do. My sessions will focus on encouraging your development in a safe space - there`s no judgement with me! You will be able to set the direction of our time, ensuring that we focus on the things you want to improve on.

In addition to my English degree I have a Masters degree in Shakespeare in Education from the Russel Group University of Birmingham.
I have taught all of most common GCSE and A-level texts in addition to working as an examiner for many years for one of the UK`s most prominent exam boards.
My specialism is in Shakespeare, but I thoroughly enjoy discussing a wide range of texts and will seek to support you in your own discovery of and engagement with your texts.
I can also support you in developing your essay writing skills and exam technique, from KS3 right through to A-level.
