Hi, I am Maria, a third-year PhD student in Medicinal Chemistry. Prior to this, I was awarded a first-class degree in chemistry.

I am able to teach Maths and Chemistry A-levels and beyond. During my undergraduate at the University of Liverpool, I volunteered as a Peer Assistant Learning to lower-year students teaching maths and chemistry. I also, coordinated the preparation of the inorganic session. This experience taught me how to approach different problems and deal with unknown situations. I also achieved a 99 score in my mathematics written exam module (MATH 186) during my 1st year of undergraduate.

Further to this, my PhD has enabled me to continue working in teaching. Since my 1st year, I have been demonstrating Chem245 and Che3x5 two important modules for the 2nd and 3rd-year undergraduate chemistry students. In these sessions, I closely supervise the students and help them when needed. I am also involved in marking their reports, giving them constructive feedback, and helping them improve both their practical work and their writing. Additionally, I supervise undergraduate research projects within the research group. This means overseeing a minimum of 2 undergraduates each academic year, improving their synthetic techniques as well as drafting report advice and corrections

I also completed the Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (FLTHE) in 2020.

Availability: I am available after 5 pm during weekdays and all day on weekends.

Experience: • 1st Class Master`s degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool (2020).
• Volunteered as a Peer Assistant Learning (PAL) to lower-year students teaching maths and chemistry during my MChem Degree (2016-2020).

• Achieved a high score in my mathematics written exams module in my 1st year of undergraduate.
• Since 2021 I demonstrate Chem 245 and Chem 3x5, two important modules for the 2nd and 3rd-year chemistry students.
