Joseph

I am PhD Biological Physics student and postgraduate researcher at the University of Manchester. I graduated with an MSc Advanced Computer Science from the University of Leeds and aBSc (Hons) Computer Science from the University of Sheffield. I am passionate about my subject, and about teaching, and I enjoy tutoring as it allows me to tailor the classes to the recipient.

I teach Computing and various programming languages from the very basics to university level, and I offer tutoring in Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry up to GCSE Level.

I am friendly and patient, and enjoy tutoring students of any level or age range. I like to focus on the goals of a student, no matter how far off that may be. Whether it is a fantastic degree or dream job it provides encouragement and context to otherwise abstract and confusing subjects.

Availability: I am available all days of the week except Saturday.

Experience: From 2015 - 2017 I volunteered as a teaching assistant at Altrincham Preparatory School, helping with IT lessons for Year 3 students. Additionally I taught an extra-curricular Python programming class for Year 6 students, which I designed, planned and delivered myself unsupervised, and was aimed at preparing the students for the kind of programming they would experience at GCSE and A-Level. This was well received by the students and teachers.

I graduated in 2020 with a 2:1 BSc Computer Science. I have completed a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course in June of 2020.

I have significant experience in Python, Java, Javascri pt, HTML, CSS, NodeJS, Kotlin, Android Development, Ruby on Rails and Haskell.

I am a researcher specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Neural Networks and have expertise in these fields.
