Information about Amelia
I have just finished my Primary PGCE at Winchester University with QTS. I received high marks in my final report and have a range of experience in both KS1 and KS2. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Cardiff University. I am a diligent, punctual, and creative professional who enjoys working with children and helping them excel. I take time to form great relationships with both pupils and parents.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have volunteered in schools for years and have extensive experience in both Ks1 and Ks2. I worked for a supply company whilst at university often taking positions on the day, showing I am adaptable and flexible. I most recently completed two placements totaling 6 months at a large multi-form school. I taught 80% of the lessons that I planned and delivered. I received high marks in my lesson observations and was commended for the very good progress students made in their core lessons. I was observed by the head of maths in the school who praised my creative and engaging lesson. During the February lockdown, I was taught how to engage children online and maximise their learning experience virtually. During my undergraduate degree I took modules in `Education for learning` and `reflective teaching practice`. I did well in these modules and have used these skills in my pedagogical practice. I have just finished my current placement in year 2 which I finished with the children doing their SATS, children made very good progress and I have a sound understanding of national assessments in both Key stages. I am familiar with gathering progress data and understanding what children need to do to improve. I volunteered and taught in local primary schools in Fiji for the summer months in 2017.
