Passionate about languages? Looking to move abroad? Studying towards a professional qualification (GCSE, A-Level or a BA in Modern Foreign Languages)? Or perhaps just looking to improve your conversational skills? Then look no further! My name is David, and my passion for languages extends back to when I was a teenager at secondary school. Having lived, studied and worked in Chile, France and Germany, coupled with my degree in Modern Foreign Languages, I am proficient in French, German and Spanish, and am able to teach all levels, whether you are a complete beginner or already a seasoned language learner. I also foster a continued interest in my own personal language development, and as such am currently working towards the Diploma in Translation (Spanish-English combination) whilst studying intermediate level Italian; consequently, I am also able to assist students in these areas too.
Availability: Currently, I have availability on most weekdays in the afternoons/evenings, and am also able to give lessons on weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I spent a year as an English language teacher at a secondary school in Brittany, Northern France after graduating from my MFL degree. Whilst living in France, I also gave private lessons to students of all ages and all levels. I also have experience of working in translation, having spent 18 months working at a translation company based in the South of England that specialises in intellectual property translations.

My daughter is doing primary grade German with Dave. Dave has always come to teach at our house well prepared, is punctual, friendly, gets my daughter speaking what she has learnt and is structured, which my daughter is now ready for. I feel that she is making good progess and Dave is laying strong foundations for her future German progress. He identifies areas of weakness and supports my daughter to become more confident in her development.

I was rather nervous about starting to learn Spanish as an adult learner but David instantly put me at my ease. Our lessons have been exactly right for me and I am definitely making progress thanks to the way David constructs and steers the lessons. I look forward to continuing my lessons with David with the hope of speaking Spanish fairly fluently in the not too distant future.
