Hello there, I am often referred to as Mr in class but feel free to call me Chris. I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher, who believes that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn and access a first rate education.

I can offer you my experience in helping thousands of Children learn the often complex Maths curriculum. Struggle with Pythagoras? Baffled by decimals? Whatever aspect of Math, I can help you understand and explore what is actually an amazing subject!

Are you a budding artist or photographer who needs support in your learning? With my years of experience as both a professional photographer and an exhibiting artist, I can teach an array of skills that will allow you to creatively shine. There is no greater excitement for me than seeing an idea or a new technique being shared with a student! There is a vast expanse of knowledge surrounding the history and culture of art and photography, much of which is expected to be included in the national curriculum in schools. Whether you are a school student or an adult looking to enhance your knowledge of the Arts, I can provide enjoyable and insightful sessions.

I am polite and calm person with a strong belief in the potential of every single individual. My vision is to provide fresh and engaging lessons for anyone who needs additional online tutoring, to help people master a difficult topic and achieve their goals. Amidst everything that is happening in schools and education, I want to help wherever I can with providing catch up for those who have lost precious learning time. I am here to support any home learning, during these challenging times and keep students on track for success.

My plan to help students is to provide a tailored made interactive lesson, which focuses on the taking students through a learning journey that is scaffolded with formative assessment activities and engaging mini games. What makes each of my sessions unique, is that using formative assessment tools, they are adapted to meet the needs of the learner, so that they have every opportunity to fill gaps in understanding and achieve success.

Having worked in secondary education for years, I have supported the development of school curriculum and engaged with the on-going assessment of pupils in great depth. This is especially the case with Photography and Art, for which I have provided creative and engaging lessons that weave through the national curriculum. I am also part of a successful Maths department supporting the development of a dynamic and effective curriculum.

In addition, during my years teaching I have worked to supported students familiarity with exam papers and their structure. Building student skills in managing themselves and their abilities in exam conditions is an undervalued asset, which I can help develop.

As part of my on-going practice outside of working in a busy Secondary School, I provide one-to-one tutoring for both GCSE and KS3 students on a regular basis. This is a mixture of both in person and online experiences offered to students, dependant on their needs. Regardless I help curate a personalise experience for them, during which they are engaged, challenged and most importantly mentored in identifying their strengths and harnessing them to achieve success. I make it my mission on a regular basis during tutoring sessions online, to first of all insist that every pupils starts by realising that they have what it takes. No matter what your background, learning experience or feelings and expectations for yourself, you can achieve excellence.

Experience: I have worked as teacher across many subjects, gaining a broad knowledge across the curriculum in England. A fully qualified teacher with years of experience, I have worked with a both primary and secondary students, providing ongoing assessment of progress and helping young people develop their understanding complex Math and Photography. Delivering one to one tutoring is something I do to help learners who may feel they just need that extra time to capture that knowledge, enabling then to reach their target. Whether it be for exam preparations, or simply some additional tutoring in key stage 3 or 2, I can deliver powerful and engaging lessons that will help engage any pupil, or group of pupils.

What sets me apart from other tutors, is my skills in using interactive technology in my lessons. With Covid 19 turning schools into empty spaces, I have assisted other teachers in setting up their lessons online. I am an expert in remote learning and can adapt almost and lesson to online. Pupils will gain new insights and perspectives on subjects through interactive lessons, including virtual field trips, quizzes, interactive experiments, live marked writing activities and much more.

I have also worked in the adult sector, providing workshops for those who requested seminars or one to one tutoring on a variety of subjects.

My approach to teaching is informed by the belief in helping individuals develop their own answers. I use consistent and well thought out questioning and collaborative learning strategies to stimulate self growth in learners. I provide ongoing formative assessment to ensure progress is tracked and pushed were needed, keeping learners on track with where they want to be.

I firmly believe that any lesson should involve interactivity, so rather than passively staring at a screen, you’ll be sure to see fun and engaging challenges in my sessions using the latest educational technology. My focus is on providing online tutoring for those who have missed out on their learning, or who seek to continue their educational journey.
